No better way to pick out a perfect bottle for yourself or as a gift ahead of Father’s day than come along to a barrel top tasting of some cracking spirits including Aberfeldy, Royal Brackla and Craigellachie single malts and Santa Teresa rum matured in a Speyside oak cask. We also do portfolio tastings where you can sample many different wines usually with a theme – from one region or one grape varietal. We can also design tastings to suit your event.

South African Masterclass – Aberdeen Local Wine School

South Africa’s wine industry is one of the oldest in the New World: Jan van Riebeeck, the first governor of the Cape, planted a vineyard in 1655, and on 2 February 1659, the first wine was made from Cape grapes. Join us as we celebrate this incredible piece of winemaking history!
During this masterclass, you’ll taste wines from key regions such as Stellenbosch, Walker Bay, Swartland, Paarl and Constantia.
Expect to taste classic South African grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc, all reflecting the country’s incredible diversity of climates and soils.
Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or a beginner, this masterclass promises an immersive, educational, and enjoyable experience.

This informal tutored tasting of 6 different wines chosen from the extensive shelves at Monty’s will explore the regions from the Atlantic influenced Vinho Verde to the largest region, the Alentejo and more.
Along the way, we’ll check out the local grapes and get behind the label too.
